Show preview window automatically
The Preview window will open but not play titles until you click the play button.
Play selected title automatically:
The Preview window will play the title you select automatically.
This area lets you choose the decoder that DVDFab uses for the preview window. Internal plays the video only, on the small window in the lower left corner of the DVDFab window. DirectShow uses decoder/filter and will play in the small window as before but also enables "right-click options" which include selection of small or full screen and choice of audio/subpicture streams during playback. See "Using Preview" below.
This area lists the filters installed on your system and allows you to choose or change the one selected for use on the Preview player. DVDFab is supplied with its own filters for video and audio, or you can choose one of the third-party decoders that DVDFab finds on your system. The Decoder and DirectShow Filter choices will require a restart of DVDFab to be effective. See the illustration.
"DirectShow Preview" works much like Internal, with the added benefit of audio/subpicture playback and true DVD video decoding with full screen playback option. To access these features, you must select "DirectShow" as the preview type as shown above. The full screen mode can be accessed by right-clicking on the preview window and scrolling down to and clicking on "Full Screen". Any of the audio or subpicture streams on the DVD can be selected by right clicking, selecting "audio" or "subtitle", and then the track you want to preview. It is also possible to select the audio/subpicture for preview by simply highlighting the desired stream in the selection box in the DVDFab main window, as shown below (when not in Full Screen mode).
