Convert DVD to PSP


DVDFab DVD RipperPSP option supports to edit and convert DVDs, ISO image files to MPEG-4/H.264 MP4 files. Moreover, it also allows to customize the output parameters including audio/video format, video size, which enables you to get favorite output effect.

 

Guide


Step 1) Start up DVDFab - Go to DVD Ripper - PSP


Step 2) Load DVD


Insert your DVD movie to DVD drive (if you’ve saved it on your hard drive already, please click on the folder icon to load the root folder of this movie).
(If you want to convert an ISO file, please click on the icon button to select your source.)


Next, choose the movie titles you want to convert (you can preview the highlighted title before conversion

in the lower left corner), check the audio/subpicture stream you prefer.


In this example, we are converting title6 and title1. (See the illustration below)


Step 3) Set advanced settings


Step 3.1 Title Start/End settings


This settings window allows to choose chapter range for conversion. Please set the start and end chapters according to your needs.


Step 3.2 Open Queue


This makes it easier to convert a large batch of files using different output formats at once, which will

definitely save much of your time.

Copy: Create a new task for the same title yet output another format which can be selected with the drop down profile selector.

Remove: Remove the task you selected. If a title is removed from the task queue, it will be deleted from the Title List (in the main window) as well.


Step 3.3 Conversion Settings


Please click on“Edit”button, open“Conversion Settings”window. You need to set the output parameters like output type, audio/video format, frame resolution/ aspect ratio, rename the output file, etc. For detailed explanation about this window, please check DVD Ripper Conversion Settings.




Step 3.4 Video Effect Settings

>Resize

Here you can select the suitable aspect ratio, frame resolution and visually check the output effect

in the lower right area and the detailed parameters of source/output file in the left bottom corner.



>Crop


Please cut off the black edges and unwanted area by easily draging the dashed frame on the video screen of the source file, you also can type the number in the Top/Left/Right/Bottom box to crop accurately.

If you want to keep the aspect ratio of source screen, you need to check this option before croping.


It allows to preview the converted effect of output files before conversion in the bottom right-hand corner. (See the illustration below)



Step 4) Start to convert

After accomplish all the effect settings for your output files, click Start. You can track the conversion process from the progress bar at the bottom of the interface.

If you have checked the option “Automatically shut down the pc when done”, the computer would be automatically shut down after conversion finished.



Step 5) Enjoy the MPEG-4 files on your PSP

To transfer converted files from PC to your PSP, you have to ensure your PSP is connected to your

computer via USB cable. If you want to copy the converted file to your Memory Stick, you need to connect

the Memory Stick via a card reader.

You also can use “File Transfer”, which can help you transfer the converted files to PSP directly.



NOTE:

In order for the PSP to find the converted files, that must be stored in a specific location.

psp.mpeg4:

If you set the profile as psp.mpeg4, you are suggested to put the file in

(PSP_Root)\MP_Root\100MNV01\folder, file name must be M4V*****.MP4(* is any digit).

psp.h264.aac:
The profile is used to create mp4(h264 + aac) file, which can be played in PSP with any firmware. The file

must be put in (PSP_Root)\MP_Root\101ANV01\ folder, file name must be MAQ*****.MP4(* is any digit).

psp.h264.firmware2.8+/psp.mpeg4.aac.firmware2.8+:
The profile is used to create mp4(h264 + aac)/ mp4(mpeg4 + aac) file, which can be played in PSP with

firmware >= 2.8. The file must be put in (PSP_Root)\VIDEO folder.

psp.h264.firmware3.30+:
The profile is used to create mp4(h264 + aac) file, which can be played in PSP with firmware >= 3.30.

The file must be put in (PSP_Root)\VIDEO folder.

 

psp2000.h264.tvout:
The profile is used to create mp4(h264 + aac) file, which can be played in PSP2000 (best for TV-Out).

The file must be put in (PSP_Root)\VIDEO folder.
